Like most specialty therapists, I am a private pay provider. Paying out of pocket is an excellent option for those who want maximum privacy, control, and flexibility.

How does it all work?

  • I meet with clients weekly, so we can establish a strong relationship and build momentum right away. This is the foundation for collaborating on your goals for therapy as well as establishing your treatment plan.

    As we work together, I may recommend we increase or decrease based on your needs.

  • Depending on your insurance, you may be eligible to use out-of-network benefits. You will be responsible for paying for each session in full at time of appointment. If requested, I can provide a super bill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • Out-of-network benefits will typically reimburse for 50-80% of the cost of each session. These amounts can vary, but you can use the reimbursement calculator below to get an individualized estimate of what your costs will be using your benefits!

  • I will provide you with invoices called a “super bill” that will include all of the necessary information for your claims to be processed. You will submit the superbills directly to your insurance company.

  • I offer telehealth sessions. My clients love the flexibility, convenience and confidentiality of a virtual therapy experience.

  • Within the secure client portal, you will be able to upload one of the following methods of payment: Credit Card, Debit Card, HSA/FSA Card. Most clients find this very convenient as payment happens automatically. If you prefer to pay with cash or check, you will need to bring it to each session.

  • I use a relational and collaborative approach, so during our first few sessions we will focus primarily on getting to know you in a relaxed and supportive way. We will talk about what has brought you to therapy and any past counseling experiences that were helpful or unhelpful. We will discuss any hesitations you have and also collaboratively align on your goals for treatment.

    Since I am not a life-coach, you should not expect to receive any homework assignments or prescriptive advice. Instead, through the process of talk therapy, you will be encouraged to speak freely about whatever feels important to you and constructive for our time together.

  • Talk therapy, also known as psychotherapy, is a collaborative process where you and I engage in dialogue to explore and address emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges.

    Psychodynamic theory comes from the rich history of psychotherapy. It goes beyond just changing behaviors. It's about understanding the person deeply, uncovering hidden wounds, and connecting today's issues to their origins. It provides a safe and supportive environment for self-discovery, healing, and personal growth.

  • Counseling and therapy are often used interchangeably and I am trained to provide either or both in order to meet your needs.

    Counseling typically focuses on specific issues, challenges, or life transitions. It often addresses immediate concerns. Therapy tends to have a broader scope and is often used for deeper, long-term exploration and healing. It delves into emotional and psychological issues, including those rooted in the past, and works to bring about profound change in your life.

  • While friends and family can offer valuable support, therapy provides a unique combination of professional objectivity and specialized training. I'm here to create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share your thoughts and feelings. My training equips me with techniques and insights tailored to your specific needs, which can go beyond the support that friends and family can provide.

  • The length of time you participate in counseling depends on your needs and goals. I regularly check in with my clients regarding their therapy experience, their goals, and our relationship. We make decisions about your treatment in a collaborative, supportive way.
